Prost y’all! Meet Lagerhosen, Asheville’s own party polka band. Featuring a collective of local musicians fronted by accordionist Steve Burnside, this Asheville based group features natural Bavarian influence with a 5-piece Munich style band. Lagerhosen (literally translated as “beerpants”) will play Octoberfest polkas, waltzes and drinking songs from noon-3pm. Lagerhosen also features ‘Tall Paul’ Leech on sousaphone, Lois ‘Polka-hontis’ Jolly on trombone, Johanna Domka on trumpet, and David “Sticks” McNabb on drums. Special guests include vocalists, more horns and Club Mayhem, our dance troupe of pretty girls and handsome guys. Conceived in 2013, the group has performed at several area clubs and events, notably the Asheville 2015 Octoberfest and Sierra Nevada’s massive opening celebration last fall. The group looks forward to a fun summer frolic and will encourage “beer cheers” from the crowd throughout the event. Eins, Zwei, g’Suffa! Go like Lagerhosen on Facebook here!
